The Ostomachion

A puzzle from the writings of Archimedes.

Similar to tangrams, it was a puzzle originally made of bones. It’s a square made of smaller polygons, and it turns out that you can fit them all together in 536 distinct ways! So, there are 536 solutions to this puzzle. (This wasn’t solved until recently- so Archimedes never knew the full answer! Imagine playing with a puzzle your whole life, slowly solving more and more of it, but never reaching the full solution!)
